Indigenous Missionaries in Nicaragua and Honduras

At BCAM we believe that the goal for missions is to fully indigenize the Lord’s work.   To that end, we have provided training for the national missionaries consisting of thorough instruction in evangelistic and pastoral ministry in addition to providing a strong foundation in the Bible, in order that the missionaries might, as the apostle Paul put it, “commit these (teachings) to faithful men who will be able to teach others also”.  (2 Timothy 2:2).

On January 24, 2023 we moved from Honduras to Nicaragua to do missionary work. Our purpose is to support the efforts of our Christian brothers in evangelizing and discipling.  If the Lord allows it, we desire to plant new churches and raise up godly men to lead in these congregations.

We have three children: Juan Carlos, Eunice Elizabeth and Benjamín Lemuel.

In 2012, a newly married couple by the name of Kerli and Hefzi moved to the Honduran town of Talanga, north of Tegucigalpa, with the intention of starting a church there.   Since that time Kerli and Hefzi have been focusing on children’s ministry, having gained access to the public schools where they share the gospel with hundreds of students weekly.   Additionally, the police department has granted Kerli approval to have Bible studies with the police recruits and officers on a regular basis.

We have lived in Ocotal, Nicaragua since February of 2008.  My wife, Ruth, and I have five children.

Many young people have left Ocotal in search of better opportunities in the city, but thanks be to God the local church remains constant and active.  We work primarily with children and young people, teaching them the Word of God.  We have three bible programs in different parts of Ocotal in addition to our youth outreach and discipleship.  We have also been working with young people in a community to the north of Ocotal.

We are native Nicaraguans, born and raised in Estelí.  Since the church at El Faro was established, we have been helping in evangelism and discipleship.  Recently we have moved to El Jocote, a small community a few kilometers to the north of Estelí, to minister in the nascent church there.  In addition to evangelization, we have children’s groups and work with the youth.

We arrived in Estelí, Nicaragua in August of 2001.  Shortly after arriving in Nicaragua we were blessed with a daughter named Floricel.

I have been involved in church planting, discipleship, and shepherding.  After helping to establish a church in Estelí, I have been working in an area called El Jocote, where we have seen another small church planted.

We arrived in Nicaragua in August of 2007 and settled down in the city of Estelí in a barrio called La Comuna.  We have two children, Jared and Zuri.

Our ministry is directed toward preaching the gospel, discipling new believers, and seeing them mature in Christ.  By the Lord’s grace we have seen a small church planted and growing.  Once the church is well established we hope to move on to yet another area of the city.

My family and I arrived in Nicaragua in August of 2002.

We have three children: Ever, Eliezer y Damaris.

We’ve been ministering to the Lord’s people in León, Nicaragua where we dedicate ourselves to evangelizing, teaching the Word of God, particularly to children in the area.  God has granted us the privilege of seeing many come to Christ.   We are thankful to have seen a church well-established in León and we are now reaching out to a new area of the city.

We arrived in Nicaragua in January 2018 and settled down in the town of Jalapa, near the border with Honduras.   Because of a tragic scandal, we found the little church which had been established there to be leaderless and discouraged.  We have sought to give direction and renewed vigor to the Christians and have been encouraged by what God is doing and are looking forward to seeing much fruit as we reach out to others in this frontier town.

We arrived in Nicaragua from Honduras in April of 2008.  We have four children, Josue, Jonatan, Joana and Obed.

We live in León, Nicaragua where we serve the Lord in the local church.  In addition, we minister in a barrio called Concepción de María. There we preach the gospel.  In that barrio we have a group of about forty children of different ages who come to our children’s Bible classes.

After getting married in February of 2010, we immediately moved to Nicaragua where we have been serving the Lord since then.  We now have two children, Natán Isaí and Eliana Nazaret, both of whom were born in this country.

Our ministry consists of outreach to children and youth in an area of north Managua called Anexo Miraflores Batahola.  Besides organizing youth meetings and children’s events, we daily work with the parents of the children with the goal of leading them to Christ.

Our desire is to continue working in areas of Managua and to see churches established and people saved.

As a married couple we have been serving the Lord in Nicaragua in a town called Valle de la Laguna since March, 2010.  We have three children, Jafet, Zain, and Timothy.

We minister by going door-to-door sharing the gospel as well as through evangelistic campaigns.  In addition, I (Sigfredo) preach in the local church and also in a small community called Pacayitas.  Our desire is to continue serving the Lord here until the church is well established but our goal is to continue with church planting efforts in ever further areas of Nicaragua.
